creative spark

Hello Friend,

The past few weeks I've been feeling a nudge to share something.

At our core, we humans are creative beings. We may not create the same sort of things in the same kind of way, but each of us is innately and deeply creative. Life wants to come through us—whether that takes the shape of a garden, a painting, a playground, or an algorithm.

And while creativity is in our nature, there are a lot of things that stop us from letting it have its way. We get stuck in patterns of doing the same things in the same way. We compare our nascent ideas of what might be to what's already full-grown and out in the world. We get discouraged. We get tired. We prefer consuming to creating because it just doesn't ask that much of us.

I get that. That's what keeps me from creating even when I really want to (and especially when I don't). Your list of obstacles might be a bit different. But here's the thing: The world needs what wants to come through you. We need the new and novel and offbeat and odd, as well as the practical, rational, and familiar. We need all of it, and some if it is yours to bring into being. Only you know what that is, but you don't need to do it alone.

This summer, many of my clients are shifting into new seasons of rest, play, opportunity, and agency. My hope is that you'll find yourself in a new season as well—one in which you're open to the whispers of inspiration and ready to see what might want to come into being.

Feeling inspired? Drop me a line and let me know what's taking shape! Want some support? Schedule a call and we'll talk through it together.

My spark for this summer is getting back to writing and creating a new workshop that's been wanting to get out. Bay Area yogis, I have a few new classes popping up. You can also find me on Substack slowly making progress even while part of me would rather be watching Netflix.

Take good care,

Amanda

Think Feel Be FreeCounseling | Workshops | Yoga solstice restoration Hello Friends, Have you noticed how long the days are lately? Maybe it's just me, but I find my body waking early—too early—as if the rhythm of dawn is overriding my alarm. We're approaching the fullness of daylight in the Northern Hemisphere and a part of me is wanting to drink it all in as we move towards the milestone of the summer solstice. Solstice is the moment when the sun is farthest north in our sky. This year that...
